Sippy — Privacy Policy

Sippy ("we", "us") is a personal hydration-tracking app. This policy explains what we collect,
why, and the choices you have. Sippy offers wellness guidance only and is not a medical
device or medical advice.
Information we collect
- Account (optional): your email address, used only to create your account and
sync your data across devices. You can use Sippy fully without an account.
- Profile you provide: name, country, biological sex, weight, age, activity
level, climate and life stage. These are used to calculate your personalized hydration goal.
- Hydration data: the drinks you log, your daily goals, streaks and badges.
- Reminder settings: your chosen frequency, wake/sleep window and days.
Reminders are scheduled on your device.
- Approximate location (only if you enable the "Smart goal" feature): your
device location is used once to look up local weather and adjust your goal. We do not store
your coordinates — only the resulting adjustment.
- Usage analytics: anonymous-by-default product events (e.g., a drink logged)
to understand how the app is used and improve it. We do not use your data for advertising or
cross-app tracking.
How we use your information
- To compute and display your personalized hydration goal.
- To store your logs and sync them across your devices (if you sign in).
- To send you the reminders you opt into.
- To understand and improve the app through aggregate analytics.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored locally on your device and, if you sign in, in our database hosted by
Supabase (PostgreSQL). Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
Third parties we use
- Supabase — authentication and database.
- PostHog — privacy-friendly product analytics.
- Open-Meteo — weather lookup for the optional Smart goal feature.
- Cloudflare — hosting of the web app.
We do not sell your personal data.
Your rights and choices
- Access / export: You → Privacy & data → "Export my data".
- Delete: You → Privacy & data → "Delete account", which permanently
erases your account and all associated data from our servers and your device.
- Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR/CCPA), you may have additional rights; contact us to
exercise them.
Health & sensitive data
Hydration, body metrics and life-stage information can be sensitive. We collect only what is
needed to compute your goal, and never use it for advertising. If you have kidney, heart or
pregnancy concerns, please follow your doctor's guidance.
Children
Sippy is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not
knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
